History
OKX founded in 2017 by Star Xu, a former Chinese developer. Originally OKEx, it was among the first to offer retail futures and options.
In 2018 OKB token launched for fee payments and token sales. In 2021 a crisis caused a multi-week withdrawal freeze, after which the exchange rebranded as OKX.
In 2022 OKX Chain (X1) launched as an EVM-compatible blockchain. The ecosystem includes DeFi, NFT marketplace, and cross-chain bridges. Licensed in Malta, Dubai, and the Bahamas.
